Course Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and practices used to manage an organization’s financial resources. The course covers key topics such as financial analysis, capital budgeting, working capital management, risk management, and financing decisions. Students will learn how to make informed financial decisions that maximize shareholder value, ensure the long-term viability of the business, and optimize the use of financial assets. Emphasis is placed on understanding the role of financial managers in planning, forecasting, and implementing effective financial strategies.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understanding Financial Statements and Analysis: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) and learn how to analyze them to assess an organization’s financial health.
  • Applying Capital Budgeting Techniques: Learn how to use capital budgeting tools such as net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and payback period to evaluate investment opportunities and make sound financing decisions.
  • Managing Working Capital and Cash Flows: Gain proficiency in managing a company’s short-term financial activities, including optimizing cash flow, managing accounts receivable and payable, and maintaining an appropriate level of inventory.
